Youth and Unity

On September 14, 2026, Kazakhstan-American Free University, in cooperation with the Kazakhstan Association “DAMU”, held an information and awareness-raising meeting for university students dedicated to interethnic relations.

Today, more than ever, it is important for young people not only to understand the legal framework governing interethnic relations, but also to be able to build dialogue based on respect for each other’s cultures, traditions, and views. After all, it is today’s youth who will shape the society of tomorrow.

The meeting addressed youth legal literacy in the field of interethnic relations, the culture of intercultural communication, social harmony, and the role of the younger generation in strengthening national unity.

The presentation “Youth Legal Literacy in the Field of Interethnic Relations” was delivered by Ali Ukenov, Master of Humanities, religious studies scholar, and expert in state-confessional relations. He presented the topic in a clear and accessible way, using real-life examples.

The event concluded with an open dialogue session titled “Zhastar zhane birlik” (Youth and Unity), where students could ask questions and share their views on topics that truly matter to them.

The project is being implemented as part of a large-scale information and awareness-raising initiative, which aims to reach at least 1,000 young people across the East Kazakhstan Region.
