Master’s degree
Master’s degree – the level of postgraduate education aimed at training applicants with the award of the degree of “Master” and “Master of Science” in the relevant educational program.
The training of applicants in the magistracy is carried out on the basis of educational programs of higher education.
Training for getting master’s degree is carried out in two directions:
- specialized with a 1 year study period: training of managerial personnel for the sectors of the economy, law, education and business with in-depth professional training.
- scientific and pedagogical with a 2 year study period: training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel for universities and scientific organizations with in-depth scientific, pedagogical and research training.
Forms of study in the master school:
Full-time.KAFU offers master’s training on a fee-paying basis and at the expense of the state budget. Master’s studies will take place in the evening.
Conditions for admission to master school:
The applicants who have mastered educational programs of higher education are admitted to the master school.
The applicants entering the master school pass complex testing (CT).
In summer:
- from June 1 to July 15 of the calendar year
- is held from 20 July to 10 August.
- – before August 28.
In autumn – winter:
- from October 28 to November 10of the calendar year
- is held from November 19 to December 11.

Registration for CT:
An applicant independently submits an online application for participation in complex testing. For this you need:
- Go to site https://app.testcenter.kz/ , select the interface language.
- Pass the registration with your e-mail (be sure to confirm the e-mail).
- Pass the authorization through the received login and password (you cannot delete the letter, where login and password are specified);
- Specify your individual identification number and press the search button (the full name comes out automatically) and specify your contact phone number;
- Select section “Apply”, select complex testing in the master school;
- Fill the data for registration;
- Choose a payment method and pay for the test.
Attention!
In case when the profile of the master’s educational program coincides with the higher education program, the learning outcomes of the previous level are recognized automatically; in case of a mismatch between the profile of the educational program of the master’s program and the educational program of higher education, the applicant is assigned prerequisites for completion during the first semester for a fee.
Admission of individuals who have served in military service to a specialized postgraduate on a paid basis for three years after completing military service shall be carried out without entrance exams, based on the results of an interview conducted by the admission commissions of the OHPE during the calendar year. At the same time, the enrollment of citizens who have served in military service is carried out in accordance with the academic calendar 5 (five) days before the start of the next academic period.
List of required documents for enrollment
List of documents required for participation in the competition for the award of a state educational grant and for a fee-paying basis:
- application to the head of the University;
- Diploma of higher education (original);
- an identification document, or an electronic document from a digital document service (required for personal identification, original and copy);
- 4 3×4 cm photographs;
- medical certificate form 075-U;
- certificate of passing the test in a foreign language (if any) :
- English: IELTS Academic – not less than 6.0 ; TOEFL IBT – not less than 60 ; german: DSH – not less than B2; TDF – not less than B2; french: TFI – not less than В2 in reading and listening sections; DELF – not less than B2; DALF- not less than B2; TCF – not less than B2;
- a document confirming labor activity (for persons with work experience);
- list of scientific and scientific-methodical works (if any);
- CT certificate.
When providing an incomplete list of documents specified in this list, the admission committee does not accept the applicants’ documents.
Admission scores for the master’s program:
to the scientific and pedagogical master’s degree – at least 75 points, including:
- in a foreign language – at least 25 points,
- according to the profile of the group of educational programs:
- with the choice of one correct answer – at least 7 points,
- with the choice of one or more correct answers – at least 7 points
- on the test to determine readiness for learning – at least 7 points;
to a specialized master’s degree – at least 30 points, including:
- according to the profile of the group of educational programs:
- with the choice of one correct answer – at least 7 points,
- with the choice of one or more correct answers – at least 7 points
For international students
Admission of foreign citizens for training on a paid basis is carried out according to the results of an interview conducted by the admission committee during the calendar year. Enrollment of foreign citizens is carried out in accordance with the academic calendar 5 (five) days before the start of the next academic period.
For international students, additionally provide the following documents:
- Medical certificate confirming the absence of diseases that prevent the training;
- Medical insurance;
- Certificate confirming the presence or absence of a criminal record.
Note:
Documents submitted in a foreign language must have a notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian. Documents on education issued by foreign educational organizations run a nostrification procedure in the manner prescribed by law after the enrollment, during the first semester of study.
