Discussion on Contemporary Social Issues — “The Tendency Toward Wastefulness”

On September 17, 2026, Alexander Vyacheslavovich Palkin, a lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages, conducted an open lesson for second-year students of the Kazakhstani programs “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” and “Translation Studies.”

The topic of the lesson was a discussion of a contemporary social issue — “The Tendency Toward Wastefulness.” During the lesson, students discussed the causes and consequences of irrational consumption, shared their own views, and presented arguments to support their positions in English.

Particular attention was paid to developing critical thinking, argumentative discussion skills, and a conscious attitude toward social issues. Such classes help students not only improve their language competencies but also develop a responsible civic attitude within the framework of the state program “Adal Azamat.”
