Guest Lecture: “Domestic Violence and the Protection of Women’s Rights” under the “Law and Order” Concept

On September 22, 2026, the Kazakhstan-American Free University hosted a guest lecture for final-year students of the Law and Law and Law Enforcement Activities educational programs.

The event was organized as part of the implementation of the “Law and Order” concept, as well as the joint efforts of KAFU and the Police Department of the East Kazakhstan Region to introduce elements of dual education.

The guest speaker was Arman Altaibekovich Umutov, Head of the Inquiry Department of the Police Department of the East Kazakhstan Region, Police Colonel. The guest lecture focused on current issues related to domestic violence. Particular attention was paid to the situation in the East Kazakhstan Region, the causes of such offenses, and measures aimed at preventing them.

During the meeting, students learned about the practical activities of the police in preventing domestic violence, the protective measures available to victims, and mechanisms for preventing repeated offenses. The information provided enabled future lawyers to deepen their theoretical knowledge and examine the practical application of legislation.

Such meetings contribute to practice-oriented student training, strengthen cooperation between the university and law enforcement agencies, and help future professionals develop an understanding of the principles of legality, public order, and intolerance toward all forms of violence.
