KAFU Students Complete a Series of Intensive Business Trainings

A series of intensive business trainings, which presented a true challenge for KAFU students, concluded at the A.S. Pushkin Library. Marat Yerassyl and Yuri Matvienko, students of the Kazakh-American Free University majoring in Journalism, participated in the trainings.

From April 13 to 20, 2026, participants immersed themselves in the world of real entrepreneurship, leaving the dry theory of textbooks at the door.

The course was mentored by Almas A. Kurmangaliyev, a man with an insider’s knowledge of business. Co-founder of the BEST center chain and former owner of the renowned VinoGrad restaurant, he shared with the students not just knowledge but also personal experience in success and crisis management.

The Business Incubator program was built on a highly interactive approach:

– Real-life cases: instead of fictitious problems, they analyzed existing business models;

– Soft skills development: students honed their negotiation, teamwork, and leadership skills through hands-on practice.

– Networking: participants not only learned but also exchanged ideas, laying the foundation for future joint projects.

For KAFU students, participating in such meetings offers an opportunity to shorten the path from idea to launching their own startup. Now, armed with practical tools and advice from an experienced restaurateur and businessman, the students are ready to conquer new career heights.
