KAFU Students Participated in the “Future Investigators” National Forum

On October 10, 2026, the “Future Investigators” forum took place in Astana, organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event brought together approximately 300 law students from higher education institutions across the country. The forum aimed to provide career guidance for future lawyers, facilitate the exchange of experience, and offer insight into the specifics of service within internal affairs agencies and the modern capabilities of the law enforcement sector.

The Kazakh-American Free University was represented at the “Future Investigators” national forum by fourth-year students from the Department of Law and International Relations—specifically those majoring in “Jurisprudence” and “Law and Law Enforcement Activity”: A. Seksembay, B. Amangazin, Zh. Tursynova, A. Kurakbayeva, and G. Mukhtarova. The group was led by Rita A. Adilmuratova, PhD and Senior Lecturer-Researcher at the department.

In preparation for the forum, the students created a video showcasing the university and their chosen career paths. During the event, participants introduced their team and engaged with representatives from the ministry’s leadership and law enforcement agencies by asking questions.

The forum program included tours of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Operational Management Center, forensic laboratories, and the Ministry’s museum. Students gained insight into law enforcement operations and were introduced to modern technical equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles, and the “Arlan” special-purpose vehicle.

A key component of the forum was the opportunity to meet with leadership representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the judiciary, and law enforcement agencies. Experienced professionals shared their expertise, answered participants’ questions, and discussed the nuances of investigative work. These meetings enabled students to gain a deeper understanding of the specific nature and responsibilities of the investigator’s profession, as well as to appreciate the practical value of the theoretical knowledge they had acquired.

Participation in the “Future Investigators” forum provided the students with valuable professional experience, helped broaden their horizons, fostered teamwork skills, and strengthened their interest in their future profession.
