Meeting of Faculty and Students with Representatives of the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department

On October 15, 2026, the university hosted a meeting between representatives of the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department and the faculty of the Department of Law and International Relations, along with students enrolled in the “Jurisprudence,” “Law and Law Enforcement,” “International Relations,” and other academic programs at the university.

Kairat O. Alembayev, Head of the Department of Law and International Relations, introduced the guests and invited Kazbek M. Tokzhanov, Deputy Head of the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department (Police Colonel), to deliver opening remarks.

Kazbek M. Tokzhanov spoke about the specific nature of the work carried out by investigative units within internal affairs agencies, the roles of investigators and inquiry officers, and the procedures for joining the police force. He emphasized that service in internal affairs agencies demands a high level of responsibility, integrity, attentiveness, analytical thinking, and the ability to make well-considered decisions.

Participants were shown videos that provided a clear look at the specific tasks and responsibilities of an investigator.

Special attention was given to the participation of university students in the “Bolashaq Tergeushiler” (“Future Investigators”) national gathering, which took place on October 10, 2026, in Astana at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A video highlighting this event was screened during the meeting.

The students who attended the gathering—Aibek Seksembay, Berikzhan Amangazin, Zhansaya Tursynova, Aisulu Kurakpayeva, and Gauhar Mukhtarova—as well as their group leader, Rita A. Adilmuratova (a PhD holder and senior research lecturer in the Department of Law and International Relations), were presented with letters of appreciation and commemorative gifts. A letter of appreciation for fruitful cooperation was also presented to the university.

Kazbek M. Tokzhanov expressed his gratitude to the university’s leadership, faculty, and students for their active participation in joint events, their support for the Police Department’s initiatives, and their commitment to the professional development of future specialists.

Representatives of the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department briefed the students on the core requirements and procedures for joining the internal affairs agencies, the necessary steps to take, the benefits of service, social welfare provisions, and the details regarding initial professional training courses.

The meeting was also attended by representatives from the forensic and digitalization units of the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department. They outlined the scope of their work, showcased various types of forensic kits, and introduced a robotic dog, demonstrating its functional capabilities.

On behalf of the university, Kairat O. Alembayev expressed gratitude to the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department for their long-standing, fruitful cooperation and ongoing support—including their assistance in establishing and maintaining the university’s forensic training facility, as well as facilitating practical training and internships for students.

Following the formal portion of the event, students had the opportunity to engage with police officers, examine the contents of the forensic kits in detail, ask questions, and get a closer look at the robotic dog.

We extend our thanks to the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department for their years of cooperation and support. We wish their personnel every success in their service for the benefit of the Republic of Kazakhstan!
