Opening of the William and Ellen Bontrager Auditorium
On September 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., the opening of the William and Ellen Bontrager Auditorium took place at the Kazakh-American Free University.
William Bontrager is a US citizen, an active supporter of the university, and has taught at the American KAFU program since 1997. Thus, the professor teaches such disciplines as: constitutionalism, the US judicial system, restorative justice, reconciliation of the parties, etc.
W. Bontrager had a great influence on students and the development of the American KAFU program. For many years, W. Bontrager worked as a judge and is a practicing lawyer. Bontrager’s name can be used as a role model for future lawyers. His career and achievements can inspire students to reach heights in the profession and adhere to high professional standards.
Ellen Bontrager is an honored teacher who actively participates in the development of education in both the USA and Kazakhstan and has made a significant contribution to the development of KAFU since its inception. Her teaching experience includes experience in the inclusive education system, the penitentiary system, and active volunteer work.
Recognizing her services to the university, KAFU named Auditorium 301 after William and Ellen Bontrager.
