VII Regional Olympiad in Programming “Coding Skills”

On March 29, 2024, the Kazakh-American Free University together with Oskemen IT-Hub held the VIII regional programming Olympiad Coding Skills!

The purpose of this event is to attract public attention to intellectual competitions among TVE training organizations, popularize intellectual leadership and team spirit, improve the professional level of talented youth, develop the information technology industry of East Kazakhstan region, as well as test practical skills in programming and develop a creative approach to solving assigned problems.

The following colleges took part in the Olympiad:

  • Higher IT College VKTU named after. D. Serikbaeva
  • Ust-Kamenogorsk College of Economics and Finance;
  • Higher College named after Kumash Nurgaliev;
  • Eastern Humanitarian College named after Abai;
  • KSU “Ust-Kamenogorsk College of Service Sector” Educational Institution of East Kazakhstan region
  • Institution “Eastern Technical and Humanitarian College”

The Olympiad program included 2 rounds: Round 1 – “Testing”, Round 2 – “Solving programming problems”.

I round Participants passed testing in the field of Information Communication Technologies. 13 participants who successfully passed the 1st round and scored the highest test scores were admitted to the second round of the Olympiad.

2nd round Students were offered 5 programming tasks of varying complexity. 2 problems from the easy category, 2 problems from the medium difficulty category and 1 problem from the difficult category. Students were given 2.5 hours to solve these problems. There was no restriction on the programming language; students chose which programming language they would use.

  1. According to the results of the VII regional Olympiad in programming “Coding Skills” among students of TVE organizations of the East Kazakhstan region, a first degree diploma and a certificate for training with a 30% discount on educational programs of the Department of Business were awarded – Vladislav Rybalkin, NJSC VKTU named after D. Serikbaev Higher IT college.
  2. A second degree diploma and a certificate for training with a 20% discount on educational programs of the Department of Business were awarded to Mikhail Bondarchuk, Ust-Kamenogorsk College of Economics and Finance LLP.
  3. A third degree diploma and a certificate for training with a 10% discount on educational programs of the Department of Business were awarded to Maksat Ailbekov, NJSC VKTU named after D. Serikbaev Higher IT College.
